I was wondering how so many VD cards get a 9.5 grade from BGS but no 10s?  I know the 10s are rare, but is there one part of the card that consistently doesn't grade good enough (corners, edges, surface, centering)?

Just curious and I know there are some people here with graded VD cards/sets.

PSA has lots of 10s.

Insight?

PSA scores are a joke.  A BGS 10 is legit.  Bought a Weidman 1st Auto PSA 10 off eBay a few months ago.  The card had a huge stain on the back of the card.  If you are going to pay extra to get graded go with BGS.
As far as the original question - a BGS has to be perfect under magnification to get a 10.
I have sent 410 cards to BGS for grading and 2 have come back a 10.

never got a 10 from bgs. close to a bgs 9.5 set vict debut set.  sent in about 16-17 vict debut golds got 1 - 9, 1 - 8.5, the rest were 9.5's. ill look at em at some point tonight, an see if any certain thing is a trend in the gradings.

Looked at 10 vict debut bgs 9.5's.

9 of them graded a 9 for corners.

The problem is you need 3 10's and a 9.5 to get a Bgs 10 (10, 10, 9.5, 9.5=BGS 9.5). Extremely hard to get. There are very few UFC cards that may grade a 10 (vd, and 2011-13 finest are your best bets to get a 10, while most of the other sets like Ko and BL have some condition issues.

Do you have pictures of the PSA 10 Weidman with the stain?

Collecting low numbered stuff from Cain Velasquez, Erik Perez, Efrain Escudero, Travis Browne, Phil Davis

I can't really see it on my little phone but it looks like there is no chipping on it. Can you see something on the card Ron or is it just cause we all know how these are?

It looks great for a Round 1 card but when I blow up this pic I can see white all along the edges in several spots also it has that wonderful black grime around the crooked sticker from dirt sticking to the extra adhesive. As well as the fact that we know there is no way that any Round 1 auto will grade a 10.
