Matt you also need to realize that there are only 25 real GSP Round 1 Red Auto's. I foresee most  of these cards getting graded at some point with there high value. If you end up with a grade of 8 and the rest of the GSP cards score lower you will have the best one even if it is not a 10 and it will be worth much much more than the rest.

Just get the Auto authenticated if you think you will be disappointed with the Grade of the card.
If you talk to the grading Co. you might even get them to only do the Auto Authentication if your card grades under a certain # that you can decide ahead of time? Then if it grades high have it graded and if not just authenticated. You would have to check with them to see if this would be possible. For enough money just about anything is possible.

By the way hat was a joke about Matthew's cards being fakes
That is a good question and I am not sure but I would think if you examined the card  you would be able to figure it out ( unless it was a very good fake ) the authenticators look at many things in the autograph like pen stroke and pressure ect..
Better get your cards authenticated before the fakes.
