I'm watching/buying these just as close as R2.   Once the focus is off R2, we'll be heading back to the originals IMO.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAA... I don't need to hear about price drops... I have been spending way too much as it is... not on the level of some you money bag types... but enough for me trying to make certain sets... like an addiction worse then crack!

Isn't this how trading cards always work?  They have a value bell curve that peaks around 6-10 months after the release?

Not in most cases. For most sports, you get maximum sale value at the very start of the release. Basically before the market settles and other copies start popping up.

The exceptions are something like UD Exquisite (where your getting guys like Jordan, Lebron, Kobe, etc), Bowman Chrome baseball (where RCs sometimes take 3 years to develope into a top notch prospect), and UFC Round 1.

Now, the reason UFC Rd1 has dropped is because all of a sudden the market is being flooded with more Penn, GSP, Silva, Couture and Rampage autos.

Say before, there were maybe 750 of each guy. Well now all of a sudden theres 2000. Price goes down as they are more redily available. Even though they are great pulls regardless!

If you ask me, Round 1 was a piss poor effort from Topps and I am glad to see them settling where they rightfully should be.

I just got 20 golds plus some base for ten dollars.  Gold lots were selling for at least 2-3 dollars per card.

I am going to wait for even more settling... hopefully time it well enough to pick up a few nice autos... eventually things will self correct... UFC1 is their rookies stuff...
