This has probably already been discussed on another thread, but...
I was wondering if anyone knows about how many cases of R2 were produced? I've heard R1 was about 500 cases. Just wondering how much bigger R2 was?... 2,500 cases (just a guess)? -------------

Thats how I see nice cards like that, sitting in a pile of random cards in a shoe box up on the top shelf of their closet and probably cant even reach it until their teenagers and, were completely un-aware about the serial numbers on back. Shoot, just new collectors of MMA, not saying any names (ME), dont know about serial numbers for base parallels in the beginning, it took me only about a week on Ebay to figure it out and go look for a few but, if someone isnt on Ebay and doesnt buy much than a randon pack in a store or card shop then, they could have a rare base parallel just lying around in a shoe box as I said... ------------- See my "ULTIMATE FEEDBACK" for a sale/trade list - Mainly collecting & looking for anything of FRANKIE EDGAR -And: Ben Henderson, Diego Nunes, Anthony Pettis, Jake Ellenberger, Phil Davis, & Jose Aldo |

Who knows though, if I had the card I would put a BIN of $10,000, just to see if someome would bite big, he has so much hype right now, his R2 Red auto sold for $1,500 and there are 25 of them(it did have a good grade)!
Did the GSP or Spider R1 1/1 ever hit eBay? That could be a good gage. -------------

IIRC rd 1 spider ended between 700- 800$. Market was much smaller then.

I dont see the jones going over 1500$ at this point, even if he wins his next fight, unless the mma card market has grown to the point of picking up even more mainstream card collectors then it has in the last year or so. |

Ok, this is trivial and a bit pointless but I keep thinking about how to best figure out production #s: Each box of R2 has about one silver /188 card (both hobby and retail), but some boxes have two. So... If there is 150 cards in the base set and 188 slivers of each fighter that = 28,200 total cards or about 28,200 boxes (150 x 188 = 28,200). Divide this by 12 and you get 2,350 cases for total production. I would lower that number a bit to about 2,000 because some boxes have two silvers. So 2,000 total cases produced (some hobby some retail). I have no idea what the split would be between hobby and retail? Any thoughts? |

Ok, and if there are about two bronze cards per retail box that would equal about 550 cases of retail so... 550-600 Retail Boxes 1,500-1,700 Hobby Boxes |
