looks like we are a few hundred short. You guys know I love this site, and I know that this kind of thing (fighter sponsorship) is really important to Rolie- So... I am willing to put up a Shogun Leaf limited Purple auto /10 (for free)- towards this sponsorship. What I propose is that we have a 24 hour raffle sign up- say 10 or 15 spots at $20 each (a quick way to raise 2 or 300 bucks toward Rolie's goal).. Rolie if you are cool with this.. you can set up a raffle and I will just mail the card to the winner. Everyone who enters the raffle can just send the money directly to Rolie.. what do you guys think? |

Gentlemen, I've just received an email from Robert, confirming sponsorship for UFC 133. I nearly jumped out of my shoes!!! I've had 70 pro fights, and have only had sponsorship for two of them. One being my last UFC fight where I had a little bit of financial support and free shorts... And another, I fought a former UFC Champion named Carlos Newton -- I was given an assortment of MMA equipment. So needless to say, the sponsorship thing is quite new to me --- and a bit overwhelming. I'm very grateful for the support that each and every one of you has shown, as only in reading this forum post have I come to understand how this sponsorship was made possible. As a kid, I was a major collector of US baseball, basketball, and football cards. I'm just becoming aware of the fact that MMA cards have really become a collector's item, as I had only heard of a few limited runs of cards and that was a few years ago.... How fitting that a hobby/culture that I put a lot of my time and $$ into as a kid, has come back to reward me! A special thanks to matthewevan, who I read has offered up a $300 card of Shogun Rua, in order to assist this fundrasing effort. I had trouble letting go of any of my good cards, even in a fair trade --- so I'm not sure how you made that decision.... But a thanks is in order, sir. Off to train, that way I have abs when they chase me up for the photos that will be used in making my card!  |

Ebersole belonged on the main card from the beginning. He mauled Chris Lytle in his UFC debut, and look, Lytle is headlining UFC on Versus 5. I had someone call me very early this morning to tell me the news. I've been jumping with joy ever since.
I'm a little torn with this fight. I really like Dennis Hallman and have been very impressed with his performances in the UFC as of late. I just got Very Bad news from Brians Manager. Apparently, because of the "UFC" in my Banner Logo at the top of the website, we were not approved. Even if I could get it taken down now, they still will not allow for us to sponsor at UFC 133 and said it may not affect future opportunities if we get it removed. Brian already cashed the check, the banner and shorts have been printed which will need to be redone. I'm in discussions with his manager at the moment, but if it's ok with you guys, I'd like to negotiate something for his next fight, to give us time to redo the banner and get approved. Just reply your opinions here so I can see what would be the best option, but I wanted to communicate right away, as I'm cleaning carpets 16 hrs/day this week and don't have much time to figure it out, so post what you would like and we'll come up with something. I would prefer to not have to move the money around again if we can channel the funds towards his next fight, with the same deal. If the UFC continues to not allow us to sponsor, then refunds are the only option. Sorry for the mess up and I had no idea that would become an issue. ------------- |

ok why would the UFC care if the logo has "UFC" in it ? i agree though that if/when he wins this fight he will almost be guaranteed a main card slot for his next fight - if he honors our current contract amount for a spot in his next fight then id say go with that ------------- |

the UFC didn't enforce this rule when the site sponsored Nate Quarry or Jeremy Stephens?? Like most of the other guys I am cool with whatever you decide. Moving the sponsorship to his next fight would be ideal if he wins. Also the easiest way of dealing with this unfortunate turn of events.

im the first person onboard when we do the sponsorships so beleive me i want to help out these guys as much as we can - its the principle that if u r responsible for managing a fighter and his career etc, u should be aware of things that will cause a problem for ur fighter(s) and their sponsor(s).......and if u make a mistake u shouldnt expect the sponsor to fix it for u ------------- |
