So my auction ended tonight... it included a rd 1 base set, victorious debuts set, 30 some odd gold cards and a few mat relics and silver cards for 125$. Im fine with that. Fine with what i got for it. A rd 1 base set by itself sold for 130$ though. Im not mad or upset. Just like wtf?

I have been a collector of hockey cards for years and have never seen anything even close to the price disparities I see in UFC cards. I had a round 1 set listed for $44 2 weeks ago and got no bids now I saw one end for over $100? Happens all the time I see a bidding war over one card that will go crazy high and 10 minutes later the same card will sell at half the price.

i wonder if some of the price discrepancies have to do with people using snipe services - i mean u might put in ur snipe at $125 for something that might sell for $75 just to make sure u get it and some other guy does the same - the snipe services will pop the max bid down and what do u know - auction ended for alot more then normal

not syaing this is what is happeneing just thinking outloud ??

Another possible cause could be the fact that you had all the other stuff included.  A person who only wanted a base set would not be interested in (potentially) paying a lot more for your lot because of all the extras.  I am looking for R1 golds, but I passed over your lot because I already have the base and VD sets.

It could be because there are some dumb ass people buying these cards. Why pay the same price for a base set when you can get the base set + VD Set+ 34 Golds + 7 Silvers + 4 Mats. I see people bid $50 on an auction when there is a BIN of the same card for only $30. It is such a crap shoot on E-bay when you are dealing with idiots!!!Confused

Its funny too, mine ended first. Anyone who was bidding up the set could have took a shot and then went back to the set.  Kudos to the guy who won it. He can get what he wants out of it and probably resell what he doesnt and make most if not all his money back.

Im going to list all the stuff that was in the lot individually in the next few days and see what happens. lol
