Question of style:

I just got a box of Round 1 at a really good price.  So, I want to know what BMMAC.com would do in my situation.  Would you:

A:  Rip the box as soon as it comes in the door.  After all, you still need a bunch of the autos and golds.

B:  Resell it.  You won the auction at the lowest price you've seen in months.  You are sure to make at least $100 in the transaction.

C:  Sit on it.  Avoid the overwhelming urge, and wait to see if you can make huge bank in the future.

P.s.  I already know what I'm going to do.  I just want to hear what BMMAC thinks.

List it very high if it doesn't sell sit on it for a long time.

Well how much did you get it for ? if you dont mind me asking. I can get them for $322.00 a box, which is cheaper than most on ebay, and I see them going for $350 to $360 at least.

It's always hard to turn down $100 quick profit.  Since the $100 profit could buy you 3 or more Autographs that are better than the 3 you might pull by ripping.  On the other hand, the quest for a sweet Red Ink Auto is very tempting.  So I understand the Rip or Sell options.

To me the Sit Option is the worst if you sit too long.  With some of the Auto hits being redemption cards which expire on 01/31/2012, holding on to the box too long may decrease it's value.  No one likes pulling a sweet redemption card that has already expired, so I could see the boxes dropping in value after the Exchange Deadline passes in early 2012 b/c your best hit could be a worthless expired redemption card.

Just my opinion.  Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

Rip it option, BJ Penn redemption ends 1/31/12,  if you do rip do it before then. The odds are against you to pull a Red GSP or Silva or dual auto IMO knowing how many have been seen on the internet.

Sit on it option, not good, the UFC cards have fallen off a cliff, I personally have 98 autos for sale on ebay now and cannot even get a offer on them. If Round 3 limits production Round 1 and 2 will be worthless and everyone will being selling Round 1 and 2 to get Rd3 cards. I do not see round 1 or 2 going up in value anytime soon. Topps is killing the value of their own product fast, our only hope is they wait until late fall 2010 to release Round 3, god I can only wish, please Topps, Please!!!

Sell it option, best option IMO, try to turn a profit quick, these cards will not go back up anytime soon. Topps is flooding the market with these cards and killing demand faster than they can print them. And if you wait a year or so to try and sale a "final Rd 1 box ever" it will be almost useless since buyers will know the majority of these boxes have been opened and therefore the odds of a huge pull are virtually non-existent. Just my two cents as always

Sell it and buy some nice Round 1 or 2 autographs.

Lets assume you can get $375 for the box.

You could buy a GSP RD2 ultimate gear Auto /25 and still have a couple of $$$ left. Or a GSP or Brock Bloodlines auto and have $100 left over.

Basically break it down like this. Whats the most value you may get from a round 1 box?

Lets say $500 for a GSP Red or Ultimate gear auto. Now, the chances you hit that are slim to none. What if you get a Florian instead? You just lost $$$ on this box.

You already got a great deal. Dont keep pushing your luck.

I would never send that guy $267 for that card, especially when every other thing he  sells has a facismile auto.

It looks okay from my standpoint. Also, if you pay your paypal through your CC (AMEX, Visa, MC) you will be covered 100% for 1 year whether paypal rules in your favor or not.

So if you get the card and see its not real or he screwed qaround with it, you file a PP claim. If on the odd chance they side with the seller (they usually do not), call your CC company and they will reverse the charges.

I actually have 4 negative feedbacks on my account.  Haha.  That is probably because I am a jerk who doesn't bend over and take it up the aft everytime someone tries to rip me off.  Also, one of my negatives is from a guy who never even paid for the auction that he won because I wouldn't upgrade his shipping for free.  Imagine that!

Back on topic:

The answer is that I am going to rip it open as fast as I get my hands on it.  I paid 300 shipped for it.  I haven't opened a box of round 1 since April.  I still need 13/37 autos and 23? or so gold base.  Plus, I have no will power and ripping boxes is fun.

Pull for me to get Group A's or Gear Autos.

Also, I will post my pulls either in here or in a "box break" thread.  Then you can either congratulate or commiserate... ... or ridicule me.

Nick, is this not a legit card?

actually 2 things with that particular auto

1 that seller is mega shady and def isnt straight with sellers so liek others have said - i wouldnt buy from him

and

2 that lesnar BL auto is damaged - he bought it about 2 months ago for $450 and the seller description says its damaged

so i stand by my statement that lesnar red/BL autos dont sell for under $400 Smile

So, here are the results of the box

Thiago Silva Auto (had a brief moment of joy when I saw "Silva")
Ed Herman Auto
Tim Credeur Auto
Sean Sherk Ultimate Gear
Gouveia/Jardine Mat
Grove/Herman Mat
Gold Top Ten fights TT6
Anderson Silva Victorious Debut
4 Top Ten Fights
3 Victorious Debuts
1 Complete base set

Definately not the great box that I was looking for, but it was worth the shot.  I probably won't get all my money back.  I will definately be getting another box if I can get it at the same price.  All the goodies that I'm not hanging onto are on ebay RIGHT NOW!!!!!
