If you ask Joe Rogan and Eddie Bravo...they say it allows them to focus better and it improves their grappling.  I can see how this is a valid argument.  As far as the pain relief, it does provide a great deal of relief and when you are high, you really just don't care much about the pain either.  I just dont see how fighters who smoke weed make weight...the munchies are killer sometimes.  LOL

Alcohol is much better than weed to keep the pain to a minimum when getting punched in the face.

and the two combined.... yeah, hurts.  

Think adrenaline helps more then anything.  I mean, i got hit hard enough once, multiple times  I saw stars like a looney toons cartoon, still was standing and somewhat with it, could feel pain from it, but kind of ignoring it I geuss while in said scuffle.  Remember it hurting though.  

had a moustache once. any time i looked in the mirror i bursted out laughing. im not manly enough to harness the power of it. though offering up moustache rides as a pick up line was always a great conversation piece.
