Topic: round 2 card conditionPosted: 27 Dec 2009 at 10:12pm |

I bought a box of round 1 when it came out and was very disappointed at the condition of the cards. I send some cards in to get graded, but could not send in even one card due to the severe chipping front and back. I was wondering if round 2 got any better. I never bought any of round 2 and have some regular bloodlines and base set cards I am looking for but I want them in great shape, no white on edges front or back and sharp corners. before i go looking for them what has been the look of the round 2 set? are the cards in better shape or are they still all chipped up like round 1?
Thanks.

Are you reffering to the autos? They are way better. Nothing like the chipping in round one.

Not really the autos, just the regular base cards. The round 1 box i opened pretty much every single card in all the packs had damagd corners, white on the edges ect.. I am not expecting to have perfect gem mints cards in every pack, but to have pretty much every card have noticeable defects was very disappointing.

Base cards overall are way better as well. Much like rd 1, imo the beset cards to get graded are the subsets. The bloodlines especially.

I have opened and purchased many round 2 Ruby's and other thick cards which were damaged from the factory. I pulled a Gsp Ruby base parallel and was so happy untill I looked at the damage to the card. Most of these cards are srewed up in the same place and you can see it on many of the e-bay listings if you look for it, usually on the left edge about the middle of the card. So the ruby's are even more rare than /8 because many are damaged. I have also pulled several cards with damage to the foil were the name is. Hope this helps answer your question
