been seeing alot of these pop up on ebay. have a few questions.
1. Have you guys pulled any
2. What do you think there value will be in the longer term.
3. what is the most unique one you have seen ( the burned one sure must be up there)

as far as value goes unless its a corrected error (meaning topps discovers the error during printing and reprint corrected versions of the card) the error wont be worth anything substantial
alot of ppl have an idea in their head that an error card is worth $$$ - the reasons certain errors are valube is b/c when the error is caught in production and the company stops and redoes the card - this will create a variation of the error and to correct version - so errors like that will have some value (a few examples are teh 90 topps baseball frank thomas rookie - and the 89 fleer errors liek the billy ripken FF bat aerror card which has like 5 diff corrections) an example of what an error card in mma would be is like say topps produces a brock lesnar card and spells his lesner then as they are printing them they notice the error (but some cards have already been shipped out) and they pull the card and change the name to the correct lesnar and finsih runnign the cards with the correct name - the error might have value if there arent too many versions out there vs the correct version |

I've got a Rich Franklin Mat relic from round 2 that is the regular grey base card color instead of onyx, but is stamped #/88 on the back. Anyone see anything like this in Round 2?

I have Diego Sanchez Rd 2 Base Error Card that says Chuck Liddell and light heavyweight, the only thing that might make it valuable is if it is a 1/1 card. If you start seeing a lot of them then it will be worthless IMO, but I paid 40 dollars for it. Has anyone out there seen a card like this?
What do people think of the Round 1 GSP error card on ebay with no auto? I spoke to Topps and they would not verify it so I stayed away from it. The seller told me Topps would not verify unless I had the card in my possession because they did not want to admit the error. |

the only reason I would but the GSP no auto would to get is signed in person but i dont think it is worth more then the normal card all you haveto do is pull off the sticker. |

this was my thought exactly, anyone can pull the sticker off, imo its worth a lot less than the signed one. Edited by tmlfan - 01 Dec 2009 at 12:25pm |

Are u sure? It just seems odd that topps would make the stickers that easy to rip off without leaving anything. Isn't the only difference between an auto and a fighters personal card is that they are not signed? Just wondering...

I wish they would have been all on the card autos like the TUF autos to avoid fraud or people pulling stickers off. Would add value in years to come IMO

Well the stickers were signed while stuck to another backer, then peeled off and stuck on the cards, so I would think you could get one off if you wanted to, especially with a little heat (I have take many price stickers off this way). I am not saying this is what was done with the 4K GSP, but if it really was worth that much I would buy a signed one and take it off. and the signed cards are very different than the regular base cards if thats what you are asking. anyone have a mitt full of signed CD dolloway cards to test this theory? |
