Hey guys, I have a question that you may be able to help me with. I pulled a Matt Brown rd2 ruby card and noticed that it was damaged. It was peeling up at the bottom of the card in the shape of a fingernail. A friend of mine told me that Topps would replace it so I called the Topps hotline. They told me to mail the card to them with the box number and as many wrappers as possible. I mailed it out about a month ago. Has anyone else done this? I am hearing from friends that Topps could mail me a different fighter or a different card all together. Does anyone know how long it will take to get my card? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!! |

This same problem just recently happened to me. I bought a pack at wal-mart and threw the wrapper and the receipt away. I pulled a Leonard Garcia Ruby #8/8. The part on the front where his name is in white was messed up. It was only half in white and the other half you could see the outline of his name but it was not in white like it should have been. I emailed topps and they said I needed to send the card and the wrapper and the receipt to them. I didn't have any of those things and my Wal-mart was sold out. So, I ended up buying a hot pack online, and then went into my Wal-mart with it in my pocket. I got a small basket and put the pack in their with a few other items, and paid the three bucks to get a receipt. I sent it and with a note and asked them to E-mail me with my options as far as their replacement process. I got a box in the mail like two weeks later and they had replaced it with a Miguel Torres Ruby same #8/8. I was fine with the trade but it made me start to think about that whole process. How many of the cards do they keep and not release in case there is a situation like I had. I mean they had that Torres card and even had the same #'d ruby. What if I had pulled a diamond instead of a ruby? do they have extra diamonds on hand too that they didn't release? I shipped from CA to NY and i got it in just under two weeks. I would email them and ask for an update on your process. Sorry for the Essay, I guess I had a lot to say about this, lol

Unreal, the same day I make this thread, I get the card in the mail. Topps sent me back a Matt brown ruby so I did not get a choice but atleast they remade the card for me. It is now in mint condition. They also sent me a letter, here is a breakdown of what it said: Dear David, Thankyou for purchasing Topps trading cards. Cards which have significant factory produced flaws will be replaced while supplies last or from one year of purchase date. Whichever comes first.
Up to 25 cards can be replaced on a card for card basis per submission. Please enclose a list in a numerica order of these cards. If more than 25 cards are enclosed, they will be replaced with random selected cards.
I will not bore you with the rest of it. I wonder how many cards were not put into boxes? Can you guys start to list any ruby or numbered cards that have not surfaced. I hope this helps anyone that wants to have a card replaced. By the way, you do not need the wrapper number, I lost the wrapper for this ruby but they did accept the box number, it may be a good idea to take note of the box number if you buy out of boxes. Hope this helps.

Ive sent in a few piles of cards to Topps from Round 2 that had significant damage on the edges. They replaced many silvers for me. I pulled a Yves Lavigne Ruby with bad damage, and got it back from them, stating they did not have any replacements for it. So I was stuck with that card.
Round 2 had a lot of quality issues, Ive busted 4 cases, and only 1 case was in good condition. Many short print cards had bent edges or corners. Bloodline Autos were coming out of the pack with dinged corners. I was pleased to see a huge quality improvement with Main Event though. I hope the same from Round 4.

Got a retail box of Main Event and it was without a "hit." I sent the box, all the packs, and the paypal transaction receipt to Topps and they sent me a Brian Bowles auto. Took a couple weeks.
